Footage of deputies shooting a man in the buttocks after they said he pulled a gun on them during a chase was released Tuesday by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

The video includes a 911 call, body cam from patrol deputies and dash cam footage of a chase. Body cam footage also includes the moments leading up to the shooting of Terrance Michael Duckworth, 32.

It can be found on the sheriff’s office’s YouTube channel. Viewer discretion is advised because it contains graphic content and foul language.

The incident occurred Aug. 19 when a group of men who could not get into a club were hanging out in the parking lot and drinking in the 8000 block FM 78 in Converse.

A security officer called deputies because he saw one of the men had a gun tucked into his clothing on his right side.

When deputies arrived at the bar, security said the man with a gun got into a black Nissan and drove away. Deputies Jeffrey Suarez and Laura Mendez followed the car and reported the driver was traveling recklessly.

In the 7900 block of Ferrysage Drive, the suspects bailed out on foot. The deputies caught up to Terrance Michael Duckworth and another person, who was unidentified in the video, in front of a fence in a residential neighborhood.

Cornered at a fence, the other man had his hands raised, but Duckworth appeared to pull a gun from his waistband. Suarez fired three rounds, striking Duckworth in the hip and buttocks.

Duckworth was taken to an area hospital for treatment and has been booked on warrants for a parole violation and two charges of unlawful carrying of a weapon and evading arrest.

Jontae Dwayne Richardson, 29, was arrested on a warrant for driving while intoxicated and now faces charges of evading arrest or detention and felony possession of a firearm. A third person, Aramis Flippin, 28, was charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle.

Three weapons were recovered from the group, including two discarded in area backyards during the chase and one found in the passenger seat of the fleeing car.
