Manhole covers flew up into the air as workers ignited methane during their work in southern China.

The video, captured in the city of Qingyuan in Guangdong Province on April 13, shows scared workers fleeing as three manhole covers were suddenly propelled into the air.

According to preliminary judgement, the sparks occurred when applying asphalt onto the road, igniting the methane in the manholes.
