Atlanta Police Arrest Convicted Felon on Multiple Drug Charges
After receiving numerous complaints from concerned citizens about illegal narcotics activity at the apartments located at 3200 Lenox Rd, Atlanta police officers conducted an investigation. On Wednesday, August 16, 2022, the Atlanta Police Department’s (APD) Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at 3200 Lenox Rd NE with the assistance of APD’s Atlanta Proactive Enforcement Interdiction Unit (APEX).
Upon their arrival, APEX officers knocked and announced themselves outside the front door of the apartment. During this time, officers set up on the outside perimeter of the apartment and observed a black male, later identified as 38-year-old Eric Patterson, run outside onto the balcony. Officers ordered the male to go back inside and he complied however, he refused to open the front door to the apartment. At that time, officers had to force entry where they were able to take Mr. Patterson into custody without incident.
Upon clearing the apartment, it was revealed that Mr. Patterson was the only occupant.
The Atlanta Police Narcotics Team entered the apartment to begin processing the scene. Inside the apartment, officers recovered 31.47 lbs. of marijuana, 4.23 lbs. of THC edibles, 113 grams of MDMA, 113 packs of THC grapes, $1,148 US currency, a firearm, and 40.7 grams of oxycodone pills. Upon further investigation, it was found that Mr. Patterson is a convicted felon with 20 arrest cycles in Georgia which included numerous felony narcotics arrests.
He was subsequently charged with Trafficking marijuana, Trafficking MDMA, Possession of a schedule II narcotic, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
