Arkansas State Police released the dash camera video of a chase in Jonesboro
According to court documents, an Arkansas State Trooper said the Drug Task Force tried to pull over a Nissan Altima for driving left of center on July 19.
However, the driver, later identified as Daylon Derrick Powell, drove away from investigators.
The video shows Arkansas State Police chasing Powell north on Interstate 555 between Red Wolf Boulevard and Southwest Drive.
Powell then took the Southwest Drive exit and turned right onto Alexander to reach Southwest Drive.
As he made it into the intersection, a state trooper conducted a tactical vehicle intervention, TVI, on Powell’s vehicle, stopping him right before hitting traffic driving on Southwest Drive.
In the video, you see Powell tell investigators he had no weapons and that his arms were broken.
“Myself, along with other troopers, attempted to conduct a high-risk stop from this point, but the driver was not coming out of his car. His hands were out of the window, so we grabbed his hands and pulled him out of the driver-side window and to the ground, where he was placed into custody without further incident,” the affidavit stated.
Investigators also found Powell threw out a sandwich-sized bag of marijuana during the chase.
An ambulance checked Powell out before he was booked.
