Bodycam shows Vancouver police break into apartment to stop a domestic violence assault in progress
A woman was injured, and a man is facing charges of attempted murder and domestic violence after officers with the Vancouver Police Department said on Thursday that they had stopped the assault in progress.
On Thursday afternoon, Vancouver police posted body cam footage of the incident, saying it happened “recently” at an apartment complex.
Officers were responding to the report of a man assaulting a woman inside an apartment when they said they saw the attack happening through a window.
Body camera footage shows the officers forcing their way into the apartment unit and then taking the man (with his face blurred) into custody.
The woman was taken to a local hospital with injuries. Police did not give any further information about her condition.
The man was first charged with domestic violence assault, then later, he was additionally charged with attempted murder, police said.
