Man runs from deputies after trying to steal lawn mower in Florida
By: Video shows a man running from authorities in Florida after he was accused of stealing a lawn mower and other items.
The Escambia County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a home for a report of a burglary on Monday.
Deputies said 28-year-old Marcus Dale had taken a lawn mower, Airpods, and other items valued at more than $500.
When Dale saw deputies, he fled on foot, leaving the lawn mower behind, but one deputy was not going to let him get away.
Body cam footage worn by one of the deputies shows the chase beginning on train tracks.
As the deputy is pursuing the suspect, Dale is seen abandoning the lawn mower and running away.
After hopping over two fences, the deputy caught up with Dale, who was then arrested.
He was then taken into custody and charged with two counts of burglary, theft, and resisting an officer without violence.
Dale was booked into Escambia County Jail, where he was held on a $7,000 bond.
