Cornwall coastguards stop children "playing chicken" in huge Storm Alex waves

Coastguards were patrolling the town of St Ives in Cornwall on Friday (October 2nd) to prevent children from "playing chicken" in the huge waves from Storm Alex which crashed on the seafront.

Gale-force winds reached 61mph (98km/h) in southern England on Friday.

Rain warnings are in place across much of Wales and England and parts of Scotland.
