Body cam: Suspect gets stabbed multiple times when he attacked the deputy inside Hillsboro hospital
By: A man has pled guilty to attacking a police deputy inside Kaiser Permanente Westside last October.
Joshua Wesley, 28, took a plea deal and avoided jail time for the attack. Wesley pleaded guilty on April 20th to assaulting a public safety officer, with his remaining charges dismissed.
In the October 24 incident, Wesley was in the process of being admitted to the hospital and accompanied by the deputy due to a civil hold.
Body cam footage shows Wesley charging the deputy and trying to take his gun, with the deputy then pulling out a knife during the struggle and stabbing Wesley multiple times.
Wesley is on supervised probation for five years with several conditions, including submitting to mental health evaluations and being randomly tested for drugs.
