92-year-old man with dementia found hiding in bushes, FL deputies reunite him with wife
By: A man with dementia was found by deputies cowering in bushes, body cam video captures the moment he is reunited with his wife.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) said on Friday, March 17, deputies responded to a home on Graceful Oaks Ct. in Plant City at 5 a.m. A woman called 911 to report her 92-year-old husband with dementia suddenly vanished.
When deputies arrived at the home, she told deputies she heard her alarm go off and when she went to investigate, she couldn't locate her husband.

The sheriff's office said multiple K-9s were dispatched to locate the missing man. After an hour-long search, deputies were able to find the man hiding in bushes a few houses away. He had visible cuts on his arms and legs from the brush in the woods he had wandered through.
Body cam video shows deputies approaching the confused man and leading him back home to his wife. EMS responded to the home to tend to the man's injuries.
"We are grateful that #teamHCSO deputies and our K9s were able to locate this man and bring him home," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "This is a fantastic example of our team working together to serve and protect the residents of Hillsborough County."
