5-year-old girl defends her mother during a robbery

Surveillance cameras captured the moment a brave 5-year-old girl defended herself from a man who was trying to rob his mother. The man brandished a knife which he then used to stab his mother in her neck, before stealing her smartphone. The man, alerted by the presence of residents at the crime scene who rushed to their rescue, notes Giovanni D'Agata, president of the "Rights Window", fled leaving behind the moped. After a two-day search, police arrested 26-year-old Nguyen Quang Vinh. Vinh was just released from prison last year for robbery.
