Police in Purcell release dashcam video of car chase with teenage driver
Police in Purcell released a dashcam video showing a police chase with a teenage driver.
The driver allegedly ditched a stolen car and ditched his younger brother. It happened while the driver was trying to get away from the police, making a U-turn and speeding off.
It happened just before 2 a.m. on Nov. 24, just hours after most Oklahomans sat down for Thanksgiving dinner. Police said they tried to pull the driver over for speeding, but he wasn't stopping.
He did not get far. The video showed the car going through a utility pole and ending up on its roof.
The alleged driver, just 16 years old, climbed out of the vehicle and, according to police, abandoned his little brother inside the car. Police said the car was stolen by the teenager.
H was later found and arrested and is in custody, facing multiple felonies. The younger brother was treated at the hospital and released to a parent.
