Bodycam shows Springfield officer getting pulled over, charged with OVI for the 3rd time in 5 years
-----
Ohio State Highway Patrol pulled over off-duty Springfield Officer Joseph Robinson at McCreight Avenue and Elm Street Friday morning.
In court documents, a trooper wrote when he pulled over Robinson, he tried to “exit his vehicle but fell down in the street.”
Cruiser camera video obtained by News Center 7 shows this, as well as Robinson walking back toward the patrol car wearing only one shoe.
Robinson ignores the state trooper’s command to stop walking.
“Stop! You’re gonna get tased!” the trooper tells Robinson.
Court documents state that Robinson refused field sobriety and breathalyzer tests.
In a statement, Elliot said Robinson is on administrative leave and the focus of an internal review.
Robinson was pulled over for OVI in April 2019.
He was also pulled over and cited for an OVI in May 2022.
People in the city want to know why this keeps happening.
