Cadillac PD released body cam footage of an officer-involved shooting against a machete-wielding man
The Cadillac Police Department has released body cam footage of an officer-involved shooting against a machete-wielding man on Saturday.
We are choosing to only show a portion of the video due to its graphic content.
The body cam footage shows an officer arriving at a residence on Aldrich Street, after the department received a report of a breaking and entering.
The homeowner told the officer that the suspect was banging on the house with a machete.
With help from neighbors, the officer found the man in the backyard of the house next door.
The video footage shows the man hold the machete to a dog's throat, before eventually charging at the officer while holding the machete, at which point the officer fires his handgun.
In the video, the officer states that he fired three shots.
The Cadillac Police Department said on Sunday that officers then rendered medical aid and began CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
