Weekend Cinema - This is York
A British Transport Library film Classic from the stable of a legendary filum maker 'Edgar Anstey' (the very name Edgar conjures up old grandfatherly types who were once young during the 'War Years'), Anyway, he went on to become the doyen of what's now loosely termed as 'Rail Related Malarkey'. Looking through the credits of who did what on these old pieces of magnificent social recordings of their time is a sheer pleasure - probably well lost on a TkTker but so are probably most things. (one small factoid, the sound recordists went on to form the werld-renowned BBC Radiophonic Workshop who went on to do the Doctor Who sound series)
Anyway, back to the task-in-hand, the enjoyment of 'This Is York'. As usual, settle back with a favourite tipple and look at the detail hidden behind the detail..
