Dog rescued from floodwaters in Savannah seeks loving home
-----
A heartwarming rescue is bringing hope to one dog in need.
On Thursday, November 7th, Savannah Police Sergeant Sharif Lockett and Chatham County Animal Services Officer Steve Workman responded to a call on ACL Boulevard about a dog trapped in floodwaters.
The officers quickly located the distressed animal behind a locked gate on private property. After the lot owner opened the gate, they waded through knee-deep water to reach the dog, who had found safety on higher ground.
The dog, now named "Rain," was safely rescued and is currently at the Chatham County Animal Shelter, hoping for a loving family to adopt her.
