Body camera video shows gunman fire shots at a Kalamazoo police officer
Body camera video shows the moments an armed gunman shoots a rifle at a Kalamazoo public safety officer Saturday.
Police said the suspect fired shots inside Tienda Guatemalteca, a Kalamazoo grocery store on South Burdick Street, before fleeing from officers near Candlewyck Apartments.
When an officer got close, the suspect shot at his patrol car, police said.
No one was injured, but police said the gunman did get away.
Police described the suspect as a Hispanic man in his 30s. The man is muscular in shape and could appear younger than his actual age.
Surveillance video inside the grocery store shows the gunman pointing a rifle at a customer and the owner. The gunman then fired several shots into the office door before leaving empty-handed.
