An Ohio Highway Patrol trooper is earning praise for saving an injured kitten along a busy section of Interstate 77.
The agency posted a short video of the Aug. 21 rescue on X, formerly Twitter.
A motorist called to report the animal along I-77's northbound lanes near the Duluth Trading Co. The trooper, who is not identified in the video, spots the animal next to the concrete barrier between the north and south lanes.
"Hey, bud. Hey, buddy," the trooper says. "It's OK. It's OK."
He scoops up the kitten using his reflective vest and takes him to his vehicle.
The kitten, according to a post, was treated at the Stark County Veterinary Clinic. It was taken to the Stark County Humane Society, where it is awaiting adoption.
