Kenner PD release body cam footage of Saints WR Chris Olave Monday night arrest in Kenner
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was arrested Monday night in Kenner.
Kenner police received complaints from residents about speeding in the area.
Officers clocked a Dodge Charger traveling at 7o mph in a 35 mph zone. The car was seen traveling in a reckless manner and maneuvering between lanes and around other drivers.
Police stopped the driver and confirmed the driver as Olave. He was placed under arrest for violations of city of Kenner ordinance and reckless operations of motor vehicle.
We're told Olave did not resist arrest and cooperated with police.
Olave was released from the city of Kenner jail at 11:30 p.m.
In a statement, Kenner police say:
"New Orleans Saints player Chris Olave was arrested tonight for Reckless Operation, city ordinance, driving 70 mph in 35 mph zone. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Joe Yenni Boulevard."
Olave was a first-round draft pick in 2022 out of Ohio State University and is considered one of the rising young star receivers in the NFL.
This season, Olave has 39 receptions for 471 yards and one touchdown.
The Saints are 3-4 overall and travel to play the Colts in Indianapolis this weekend.
