Hillsborough Deputies bodycam shows K9 unit tracks down and arrests Adam Stratton in the woods
A sheriff's K-9 was able to sniff out a wanted suspect, leading to his arrest.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) said on October 9, at 4:55 p.m., its K-9 unit responded to a home along Bascal Lane in Gibsonton after receiving a call to assist with a suspect who had fled on foot with felony warrants.
Body camera video shows the moment the suspect, 40-year-old Adam Stratton, was tracked down in a wooded area and arrested. The deputy handling the K-9 can be heard telling Stratton to put his hands up or the K-9 will attack.
Stratton is currently being held on the following charges:
Burglary of an Unoccupied Structure
Criminal Mischief to a Place of Worship
Grand Theft Third Degree
"Our K9 Unit's dedication and expertise in tracking down suspects in all types of challenging terrains is unmatched," said Sheriff Chad Chronister, "They are true heroes here at HCSO and ensure that even the most elusive criminals can't hide from justice."
