Body cam footage shows Bay County Sheriff’s Office catch man after car theft chase
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office posted video of a stolen vehicle chase that went from the road to a physical run.
BCSO saw a stolen vehicle on Highway 231, but the driver evaded deputies and drove up to 85 mph. According to BCSO, the car drove into oncoming traffic and parking lots, endangering the public.
The driver struck a fence post in Fountain, leading him to run from the scene.
Body camera footage from BCSO shows deputies chasing after the man and catching him.
The suspect was identified as Justin Nix, who was charged with vehicle theft, grand theft of a motor vehicle, resisting an officer without violence, fleeing police or failing to obey an order to stop, reckless driving hit-and-run, or leaving the scene of a Crash, and being a repeat offender.
Nix was booked into the Bay County Jail on December 3 at around 5:00 p.m.
