Vietnamese doctor finds dozens of 'mushrooms' growing in patient's ears
By: A Vietnamese doctor was surprised recently to discover dozens of small 'mushrooms' growing in a man's ears.
The patient came to Dr Cuong in Ha Noi in December complaining of painful and itchy ears.
On examination with an endoscope, Cuong found the 2 cm-long fungi growing just above the eardrums.
He quickly removed them and told the patient it would take a few days for his ears to recover.
The fungi were causing inflammation and his uncomfortable symptoms, Cuong said.
