Felony murder suspect arrested after a traffic stop in Atlanta
On February 21, 2023, around 2:00 a.m., a Zone 2 officer conducted a traffic stop off Piedmont Rd NE on a Nissan Rogue. The officer spoke with the driver and informed him the reason for the traffic stop. The officer asked the driver for his driver’s license, which he admitted he did not have with him.
He provided the officer his information which was checked, and it revealed the driver had active warrants for felony murder and aggravated assault out of the City of Atlanta from a September 22, 2022, fatal shooting.
The officer informed the driver he had a warrant and detained the male without incident. The warrants were confirmed and the male, identified as 25-year-old Keiontay Davis, was transported to the Public Safety Headquarters to speak with homicide detectives. He was later transported to the Fulton County Jail and taken into their custody.
There is no such thing as a “routine” traffic stop, as this one led to the arrest of a murder suspect! Great work Zone 2 morning watch for being proactive and enforcing traffic laws, which led to this arrest!
