Smuggler Crashes Vehicle into Cement Barrier in Webb County

Earlier this week, DPS Aircraft observed four people running from a stopped vehicle along a road in Webb County. Border Patrol attempted to apprehend the passengers, who were later identified as illegal immigrants, while the driver took off to evade arrest. The driver eventually crashed into a cement barrier.

The driver and passenger, both 18 and from Laredo, were arrested and charged with smuggling of persons. Both, along with another illegal immigrant still inside the vehicle, were transported to the hospital for injuries.

The four illegal immigrants who ran from the vehicle were apprehended and referred to Border Patrol.
