17-year-old dies when he fled from Baltimore police and crashes
The Maryland Attorney General's Office is investigating after Baltimore police officers were involved in a multicar crash Saturday that left a 17-year-old boy dead.
Two officers were on patrol in a marked police car around 6:30 p.m. Saturday when they began following a Honda CR-V, the Independent Investigations Division (IID) said. The driver of the Honda CR-V then drove to the area of Grantley Road and Liberty Heights Avenue where his car collided with two other cars. A fourth car was also involved in the crash.
The driver of the Honda was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries. The IID said the patrol car was not equipped with a dashboard camera, but the officers were wearing body-worn cameras.
