Dodge Charger wanted in a drive by shooting, Trooper 2 located and start following the suspect
A Dodge Charger wanted in connection to a drive by shooting in Redford Township was observed by the Detroit Police Department.
The driver drove off driving reckless and Trooper 2 was able to locate and start following the suspect. The suspect vehicle approached Joy Road and was observed by a state police sergeant in a marked unit. The sergeant attempted a PIT maneuver, which was unsuccessful.
Trooper 2 followed the suspect to an address in Redford, where the suspect driver was detained when they exited the residence. The 19-year-old male suspect from Redford Township was lodged at the Detroit Detention Center for fleeing and eluding state police.
The Redford Township Police Department is investigating the shooting and seized the vehicle.
“This is the second incident tonight where someone believed to be involved in a gun crime decided to put the public in danger by not stopping for police.” stated F/Lt Mike Shaw. “But the continued work of several police agencies were able to safely take him into custody.”
