Anaheim justified in shooting that sent wounded suspect who was armed with a gun to a hospital

One suspect was taken to a hospital in critical condition with at least one gunshot wound after police fired on the man in Anaheim Friday morning, March 15, police said.
The shooting was reported in the area of North and Pine streets at around 11 a.m. Anaheim police officers were responding to a call about a “suspicious male” in the west alley of the 800 block of North Harbor Boulevard, said Sgt. Daron Wyatt, spokesman for the department.
The man was not cooperating with officers, prompting them to call for backup, Wyatt said. Shortly after, officers shot the suspect, hitting him at least once. He was later transported to a local hospital and was in critical condition.
When the suspect was hit, he was standing behind a vehicle that police said was stolen, Wyatt said. A gun was also recovered at the scene, though it was not clear whether the man used or brandished the firearm toward officers.
No officer was injured, Anaheim police said.
