Bodycam shows San Jacinto deputy fatally shooting armed suspect on a bicycle
A man who brandished a handgun at Riverside County sheriff’s deputies as he got off of a bicycle was shot and killed in San Jacinto on Tuesday, Oct. 31, authorities said.
Deputies were sent to the 1400 block of South San Jacinto Avenue, near Esplanade Avenue, shortly after 3:20 p.m. Tuesday for a report regarding an armed suspect, sheriff’s Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez said.
The suspect was riding a bicycle northbound on San Jacinto before deputies approached him. Deputies then instructed him to get off of his bike, Brito-Gonzales said.
As the man did so, he produced a handgun, and a deputy-related shooting, Brito-Gonzales said.
The suspect was struck by gunfire and immediately rendered aid until the arrival of paramedics, Brito-Gonzalez said
The suspect was later pronounced dead at the scene.
