The Investigation Department of the ICR in Chuvashia has begun a pre-investigation check on the fact of damage to the gas pipeline and gas ignition near house No. 131 on Grazhdanskaya Street in Cheboksary. The incident occurred at about 12.50 hours on August 2, 2021. In the course of excavation work on the repair of the roadway, the excavator bucket damaged the low-pressure pipe of the gas pipeline running there. As a result of the ignition of the gas, an explosion thundered. At that moment, there were two women and two men nearby. None of the eyewitnesses were seriously injured, and the fire was extinguished in less than an hour.
