Pierce County deputies tracks down and arrest suspect for attempted murder after a stabbing call
Just after 11:00 am, on Tuesday February 20th, deputies responded to a call of a stabbing at a home on 62nd Ave E in Puyallup. Deputies arrived on scene and located the suspect on 62nd Ave E and 117th St Ct E.
Deputies arrived on scene and started making announcements to the suspect to surrender. He was holding a large kitchen knife, had been cutting himself, and refused to put it down. As more deputies were entering the area, he jumped a fence and fled on foot.
Deputies setup containment and waited for K9 Brix to arrive.
As they started their search an undercover deputy spotted the suspect running on 112th St E and 66th Ave E.
Deputies were able to contact him near a wooded area of a gravel lot and the suspect eventually complied and was taken into custody.
The 38-year-old suspect was taken to the hospital for several self-inflicted stab/slash wounds and then he was booked into the Pierce County Jail for Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree, Violation of a Protection Order and Obstruction.
The 44-year-old victim was transported to the hospital and thankfully had non-life threatening injuries.
