Deputies Arrest Four Men after Attempted Robbery and Pursuit in Unincorporated St. Petersburg
On August 5, 2023, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call after a female victim reported that she was robbed at gunpoint at her home shortly after retrieving money from a nearby ATM. Deputies say a witness observed a black Chevy Traverse flee the area prior to deputies arriving on scene.
Later that evening, at approximately 8:23 p.m., deputies observed the black Chevy Traverse traveling westbound on 54th Avenue North from 49th Street. Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop when the driver, later identified as 25-year-old Jarmarquel Boone, fled westbound on 54th Avenue North. Deputies initiated a pursuit, continuing northbound on Park Street, where a precision immobilization technique (PIT) was attempted by deputies. However, Boone was able to continue north, and deputies subsequently ended the pursuit with a successful PIT maneuver just north of 62nd Avenue on Park Street.
According to deputies, once the vehicle was stopped, Boone, 24-year-old Jeremiah Lewis, 23-year-old Javon Threat, and 20-year-old Mikhail Hines fled on foot northbound. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit was deployed and were able to take all four suspects into custody.
During the investigation, a large amount of marijuana and several firearms were recovered.
Lewis, Threat, Hines, and Boone were all taken into custody and transported to the Pinellas County Jail. Lewis was charged with two counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Grand Theft (Firearm), Felony Possession of Marijuana, and Resisting Arrest Without Violence. Threat and Hines were charged with Resisting Arrest Without Violence. Boone was charged with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Resisting Arrest Without Violence.
