Officers Arrest Burglary Suspect While He Is Still Inside Residence
On October 12, 2022, at around 11:20 PM, Atlanta police responded to 490 West Paces Ferry Rd in reference to a possible burglar in a residence call.
Officers quickly arrived at the scene and were able to speak to the reporting party, who told officers she heard noises in the residence and became afraid. She then locked herself in the bedroom and called 911.
Officers immediately started checking the exterior of the residence and upon further investigation, observed an open door in the rear of the home where it appeared forced entry was made.
Officers announced themselves before entering and as they walked inside, they noticed a male standing in the hallway. Officers gave the male verbal commands and were able to detain him without incident.
Further investigation revealed the male did not live at the residence, was unknown to the owner, and did not have permission to be on the property. The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Jourdain Crawford, and he was charged with Possession of Tools to Commit a Crime, 2nd degree Criminal Damage to Property and Loitering/Prowling.
He was transported to the Fulton County Jail and taken into their custody without incident.
