MSP helicopter video shows man shooting gun, chasing woman in Flint
Flint police were assisted early Friday morning by the Michigan State Police helicopter in locating a man suspected of attempted kidnapping and felonious assault.
Trooper 3 was able to guide responding officers to the suspect as well as assist in locating discarded evidence, MSP said in a Twitter post.
A 2-minute video of the pursuit and arrest was captured and shared on social media by the agency.
Trooper 3 video captured what officers described as a suspicious vehicle following a woman as she was walking on a street in Flint. The location of the incident was not provided.
The video shows a man exit the front passenger seat of the vehicle and begin following the woman from the sidewalk. He then returned to the vehicle, which drove ahead of the woman on the street.
Once again, a man is seen exiting the vehicle and chasing after the woman. This time, however, Trooper 3 video shows the man pulling a gun and shooting into the air as the woman runs away.
Police arrive on the scene and the man quickly runs away. In doing so, he tosses the firearm onto the ground.
The man was taken into custody a short time later. The gun was recovered by police.
