Joshua Ray Norman arrested after a brief standoff
A Palm Coast man was arrested in Bunnell after a brief standoff with Flagler County Sheriff's Office on Sept. 7.
Joshua Ray Norman, 37, was recognized by a patrolling FCSO deputy at 4200 block Acorn Avenue in Bunnell. Norman was wanted for a probation violation, and fled into the home when the deputy approached. A brief standoff followed, but Norman peacefully surrendered.
Norman is currently being held without bond at the county jail.
Flagler County Sherriff Rick Staly said in a press release that the arrest is a credit of proactive patrolling and "our district policing concept."
“District policing allows deputies to get to know the people that live in the district, including the criminals," Staly said. "Fortunately, he gave himself up peacefully and [he] was taken to the Green Roof Inn.”
Norman has now been booked a total of seven times at the county jail, on a variety of charges, including domestic battery, grand theft of a motor vehicle and more.
The Palm Coast man served eight years in prison for several charges, including burglary and dealing in stolen property. He was released on probation in June 2020, but recently failed to report to his probation officer and failed a drug test, both violations of his parole.
His arrest warrant was signed on Sept. 6 by a Flagler County judge.
