Dash and bodycam shows Parma police arrest teen in stolen car after a chase ended in Cleveland
-----
Parma police released new information in connection to a chase that ended in Cleveland Friday.
Officers say a license plate reader pinged a stolen vehicle traveling east on Brookpark Road near West 130th Street.
Police reported seeing the vehicle speeding north on Knollwood Drive with three people inside the car.
Officers say the car drove into oncoming traffic to avoid stop sticks that had been dropped by police at Tiedeman Road and Brookpark Road.
The chase continued into Cleveland, police say, where the car began to smoke heavily and turned north onto West 65th Street from Dennison Avenue.
Soon, the car veered to the right of the road and into a parking lot, officials say, where the three occupants got out of the car as it continued driving.
The car rolled into the porch of a house in the 3400 block of West 65th Street, according to police.
Officers say all three occupants fled on foot, but one 17-year-old stopped fleeing and was taken into custody.
The 17-year-old had an active warrant for his arrest, police say, and was transported to the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center.
Officers did not clarify if the other two suspects have been taken into custody.
