Garden City police release bodycam of officers rushing into the home during an active shooter

Garden City Police have released body camera footage from a police-involved shooting that occurred in August 2023.
A man inside a home began firing outside of the home, even firing at the arriving officers as they responded.
Following the incidents shown in the video, two suspects were taken into custody.
Chief Stambaugh said after the incident, "The police ran toward the sound of gunfire, protecting the innocent people and the neighbors."
Responding officers entered the home, cleared the house, and responded to the active shooter event. "When you have an active shooter that's actively shooting out of a house, at neighbors and police, there's often not time to de-escalate, and unfortunately, sometimes how we react is driven by how the suspects are."
