Palm Coast Man Arrested Within 60 Minutes After Shooting Into Family Member’s Home
On January 10, 2023, just before 4pm, FCSO deputies responded to the area of Farnum Lane, Palm Coast after reports of shots fired into a residence. The reporting party stated that the shooter, who was known to them and a member of the family, had fled the scene in a Hyundai sedan. No injuries were reported.
Responding deputies, in collaboration with FCSO’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC), located the suspect’s vehicle shortly after the shooting in the L-section of Palm Coast. Members of FCSO’s Problem Area Crime Enforcement Unit (PACE) conducted a high-risk traffic stop on the vehicle and took the suspect into custody without further incident.
24-year-old Jacob Perry was placed under arrest for four counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and one count of Shooting into a Dwelling/Vehicle/Building. He is being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility with no bond.
Perry’s semi-automatic pistol, live ammunition, spent shell casings, and clothing worn during the shooting were recovered from the vehicle. Bullets and spent casings were also recovered from the scene by FCSO’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
“Great work by our deputies and Real Time Crime Center locating the suspect and bringing him into custody quickly without anyone getting hurt,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Anger and weapons do not mix. Fortunately, no one was hurt in this incident. The State Attorney and the Sheriff’s Office have no tolerance for young people using guns illegally.
Hopefully, he will learn his lesson about not committing crime within Flagler County because our deputies will find him and send him to the Green Roof Inn.”
