Police search for owner of small pony found in Tuscaloosa neighborhood
The Tuscaloosa Police Department is searching for the owner of a small pony that was found Monday night in the Alberta neighborhood.
The police department said the pony, it's calling Ginuwine, was found around 30th Avenue East and First Street East.
A call came in to the department about the animal around 10:00 p.m.
The police department said the pony was extremely unwilling to go with officers at first, and was not at all interested in the pizza crust or peppermints they offered.
Three officers engaged in a low-speed foot pursuit, following the pony up and down driveways and through backyards for nearly two hours.
The police department said the pony eventually allowed himself to be caught, and was happy to be petted and pose for selfies.
The police department said the pony is in a safe place now, and it has arranged a permanent home in case his owners are not found.
