CHP hoist injured driver after their vehicle overturned down a 100-foot steep ravine
Yesterday afternoon, CHP H-30 (San Ramon Valley Fire Helicopter Rescue Technician on board) responded with CHP Dublin, Alameda County Fire, Cal Fire, East Bay Regional Parks, and a Faulk Ambulance to a report of a vehicle that overturned into a ravine on Calaveras Road.
As H-30 responded, first responders located a vehicle on its roof, approximately 100 feet down a steep ravine, with the driver trapped.
Once on scene, the H-30 crew hoisted the San Ramon Valley HRT paramedic into the ravine and placed the driver into a rescue device. The driver was hoisted from the ravine and flown by H-30 to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, where he is being treated by the trauma team.
CHP-Dublin is investigating this incident.
