On April 26, deputies from the Echols County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop near Ben Daniels Farm Road for a violation. The driver, later identified as Sierra Smith, 32, from Dublin, accelerated dangerously, nearly hitting a deputy, and initiated a chase. The pursuit extended for about three miles, with speeds topping 120 mph.

During the chase, deputies observed narcotics being discarded from the vehicle. Eventually, the vehicle stopped on Highway 129, and all four occupants were detained. K-9 Nos was deployed, aiding in the containment of the suspects until further law enforcement assistance arrived. A subsequent vehicle search uncovered a firearm, multiple packages of suspected marijuana, and paraphernalia associated with drug distribution.

The apprehended suspects face multiple charges, including felony fleeing and drug possession with intent to distribute. Further legal proceedings will clarify the full extent of their criminal activities. The case also reopens investigations into additional felony charges from other counties, increasing the scrutiny on the suspects’ past activities
