Pierce County release bodycam of deputies arresting a stabbing suspect in Graham
At 1:38 pm, on Saturday, March 30th, deputies responded to a stabbing at the Walgreens at 22320 Meridian E in Graham. Deputies were told the suspect crossed the street on 224th St E. When they arrived on scene they located the suspect at Carol's Corner convenience store. Deputies conducted a felony stop (video) and were able to take the suspect into custody. Deputies found several knives on his person.
Graham Fire and Rescue treated and transported the victim, a Walgreens Employee, to the hospital, where deputies were able to interview him.
Deputies were told the suspect asked the Walgreens employee to call for a cab. When the cab company advised they had no one in that area, the suspect got angry with the employee and demanded he call JBLM for him. The suspect had been telling the employee he was a "Marine" and a "Navy Seal." The suspect grabbed the employee and tried to slit the employee’s throat. The employee fought back and ultimately escaped, but was stabbed by the suspect. The 23-year-old victim was in stable condition after being treated at the hospital.
The 36-year-old suspect was arrested for Attempted Murder 2nd and booked into the Pierce County Jail.
