Mesa, AZ - A suspect who fired at officers in Mesa was arrested on Monday.

The Feb. 3 incident happened at a home near Broadway Road and 32nd Street around 9:20 a.m.

According to Mesa Police, the incident stemmed from Sunday night, when someone called 911 reporting a possible suicide.

The incident escalated into Monday morning when the suspect allegedly argued with family members before possibly firing a gunshot. The suspect then reportedly barricaded himself inside a bathroom.

"Officers ensured all other occupants safely exited the home before attempting to communicate with the suspect," police said.

At one point, the suspect appeared in the doorway and allegedly fired at officers.

No officers were hurt.

"In response, officers used focused fire and less-lethal measures to take the suspect into custody," police said.

The suspect was not injured. He was identified as 39-year-old Rickey Robertson.

Robertson was booked into jail and is accused of several charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct and discharging a firearm within city limits.
