Atlanta police release body cam of a wanted murder suspect being arrested
A 21-year-old Atlanta man is facing murder and other charges in connection with the April 19 shooting death of another man in the 1600 block of Johnson Road, Atlanta Police said Wednesday.
The shooting took place around 9:45 p.m., and police said the victim died at the scene. Police identified Kameron Deal as the suspect Wednesday, releasing body cam footage of his arrest.
Police say Deal was arrested around 3:30 p.m. Friday in a parking lot in the 500 block of Northside Drive after receiving a tip about his location. Deal was arrested after a brief foot chase, police said.
Police said Deal dropped a green backpack during the chase. The footage showed an officer pulling a black handgun from the backpack.
Deal was taken to the Fulton County Jail and was charged on suspicion of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, police said.
