A Greenfield woman was sentenced to 5 years in prison after dragging a Saratoga Springs Police sergeant with a vehicle during a traffic stop earlier this year.

Body camera footage shows Sgt. Adam Dingmon stopping Theresa Travis at the intersection of Hayes and Geyser roads in Saratoga Springs on June 18. Travis gives Dingmon a fake name.

Dingmon asks Travis repeatedly to shut off the vehicle.

“Hand me the keys,” he said.

“Why?” she said.

“I’m not going to let you go anywhere until I confirm who you are,” he said.

Dingmon repeatedly orders her to shut off the vehicle and hand over the keys.

“Give me the keys please or I’m going to open this door and pull you out of the car and put you in handcuffs.”

“Do not start the car!” I will tase you.”

He reaches through the window, and she drives off with him hanging on, before falling to the ground.

Her car was captured on video later that day at the McDonald’s off Exit 23 in Warrensburg. She had a relative in the area and walked away from the vehicle.

Travis pleaded guilty in October. She received 5 years on the assault charge and 1 to 3 years in prison on the driving while ability impaired. The sentences will run concurrently. She also must serve 3 years of post-release supervision.
