Authorities in Omro say they have identified and arrested the two shooting suspects involved in a weapons disturbance Monday night that sent one victim to the hospital.

According to a release from the Omro Police Department, police responded at 7:18 p.m. to a disturbance reportedly involving a weapon on the 300 block of East Main Street.

Once on scene, police say they learned that the victim, a 65-year-old Omro man, placed an ad on Facebook Marketplace in an attempt to sell a car.

Two suspects allegedly responded to the ad and an altercation took place when they arrived, with one of the suspects pulling out a firearm. Officials say there was then a struggle over the firearm, resulting in the victim being shot as well as receiving a number of other injuries.

The two suspects fled the scene in a U-Haul box truck prior to the arrival of police. The U-Haul was quickly located, leading to a pursuit involving multiple agencies.

According to a post from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies were notified of the pursuit at 7:26 p.m. Within several minutes’ notice of the pursuit, deputies started positioning themselves along the I-41 corridor and blocking off ramps in Fond du Lac and North Fond du Lac.

Authorities say a deputy was able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device at County Highway N, but the U-Haul was able to continue heading south. Additional tire deflation devices were successfully deployed, and the U-Haul was eventually driving on its rims.

The suspect vehicle later drove around squad cars blocking the Johnson Street exit and after turning onto Johnson Street, a trooper was able to successfully use a PIT maneuver to spin out the U-Haul.

Despite spinning out, the U-Haul continued to try and flee by attempting to reverse into the intersection of Johnson Street and Rolling Meadows Drive, which was blocked by unsuspecting traffic.

While continuing to attempt to reverse the vehicle, officials say a K9 deputy was able to bump into the U-Haul and eventually was able to push it off the roadway, bringing the pursuit to and the suspects finally surrendered and were taken into custody.

A loaded firearm was recovered from inside the vehicle, and both 45-year-old Omah A. Brown from Milwaukee and 27-year-old Shakierra B. Ray from Green Bay were arrested for the following:
