Atlanta Police Officers Find Burglar Inside of the Target Store
By: On August 3rd, 2023, at approximately 12:42AM, officers responded to the Target located at 3535 Peachtree Road NE on a call for a business burglary. Upon arrival, officers observed that a large window near the front of the department store was shattered.
Officers entered the store and began canvassing for the suspect. While on the second floor of the store, officers located the suspect crouched down in an aisle in the electronics section.
Officers were able to place the suspect into custody without issue. Following a search of the suspect, officers were able to recover two cell phones that the suspect had attempted to steal. The suspect was identified as 39-year-old Donell Houston.
The suspect was charged with Burglary (2nd Degree) (O.C.G.A. 16-7-1), Criminal Damage to Property (2nd Degree) (O.C.G.A. 16-7-23), and Theft By Taking (O.C.G.A. 16-8-2). The suspect was transported to the Fulton County jail.
