Body cam shows Flagler deputy making a quick arrest of a robbery suspect from Circle K
At approximately 8:24 p.m., Deputies responded to the Circle K to a robbery with a weapon implied. The victim stated that a man wearing a black hoodie had robbed the store clerk while keeping his hands in his sweatshirt as if he had a gun.
As units arrived to set up a perimeter, a subject matching the suspect’s description was observed fleeing on foot along Palm Coast Pkwy toward the library. He fled from deputies but was quickly apprehended near the library parking lot after tripping and falling.
The subject was then identified as John Ramsey Davis Jr, 44, and witnesses confirmed he was the robber. While searching Davis's pants, deputies recovered the money stolen during the robbery in his right pocket.
“I commend our deputies for quickly apprehending the suspect without further incident,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “I also commend the store clerk for providing a great description, which allowed us to quickly find him. Another criminal learned the hard way that we catch our criminals in Flagler County. Fortunately, no one was hurt and hopefully, he will learn his lesson while in jail.”
Davis was arrested for Petit Theft and Pocket Picking (between $100 - $749), Loitering or Prowling, Resisting an Officer With Violence – Aggravated Assault, and Robbery Without a Firearm or Weapon. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and is being held on $62,000 bond.
