Dashcam video shows a car being struck by a Sansom police vehicle that had its emergency lights on
A man was arrested in Sansom Park on New Year's Eve after a car crash that involved a police vehicle, according to the department.
In a press release, police say the accident happened shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday on Jacksboro Highway at Skyline Drive. The department also released dashcam video from a separate police vehicle.
The video shows a vehicle turning north at a yellow light when it was struck by a patrol vehicle. The patrol vehicle was traveling west with its emergency lights on.
According to police, there was a K-9 Handler and a K-9 in the vehicle involved in the crash. Both were able to exit the patrol vehicle with another officer's help.
The K-9 and its handler were checked by paramedics. Police said neither of them had serious injuries that were visible, but the handler was taken to a hospital for further evaluation.
Police said an intoxication investigation was done on the driver of the other vehicle. The driver, who police identified as Roger Saenz-Blandon, was then arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated, according to the police news release.
No other information was available Monday morning.
