CHP Helps Contra Costa Fire Department With Rescue on Mount Diablo’s Donner Canyon Trail
This afternoon, CHP H-30 was requested by the Contra Costa Fire Department to respond to a rescue on Mount Diablo.
H-30 arrived overhead as firefighters and State Park Rangers were treating the patient. H-30 lowered a San Ramon Valley Helicopter Rescue Technician (HRT) to the scene, who placed the patient into a rescue harness.
The patient and HRT member were hoisted from the trail and flown to a waiting AMR Ambulance. H-30 lowered the patient to AMR, where the patient was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
