Police say two men were arrested for driving a stolen vehicle into a police cruiser earlier this month.

Fairfield police identified the suspects as 21-year-old Elijah Holloman and 26-year-old Dominique Reid, both of Bridgeport.

Police released dash and bodycam videos of their arrests on Thursday.

They said around 9:30 a.m. Oct. 3, a Wilton Police Department vehicle was struck by a gray Mazda carrying Holloman and Reid. The driver then drove toward Merritt Parkway.

The incident occurred when Wilton police attempted to stop the Mazda, which was confirmed to have been stolen at gunpoint in Bridgeport on Sept. 26.

Around 9:40 a.m., Fairfield officers said they saw the Mazda traveling north on Merritt Parkway near Exit 46. When they tried to stop him, the driver accelerated, leading to a chase.

The driver of the stolen vehicle exited at Exit 51, where officers attempted to use tire pressure gauges.

The driver then got back onto Merritt Parkway and headed north in the southbound lanes, according to police. Police said the suspect drove the wrong way without officers pursuing him.

At 9:47 a.m., the stolen vehicle collided with another vehicle carrying five people. Several ambulances were requested and responded to the scene.

According to police, there were no serious injuries.

The two suspects left the vehicle at this point and fled into surrounding residential areas.

Holloman was immediately taken into custody by a Fairfield K9 unit.

A coordinated search was carried out for the second suspect.

However, they ended up finding Reid in a vehicle at the Fairfield Police Department. Police said Reid tried to punish Holloman.

Holloman was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and obstructing an officer.

Reid was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, obstructing an officer, two counts of risk of injury, police pursuit, reckless driving and driving the wrong way.

Both were held on $100,000 bonds.
