On Sunday, September 22, deputies responded to Publix at Hammock Beach Centre in reference to a customer who had their new bicycle stolen from the entrance area. Deputies located video evidence of a suspect, and a be-on-the-lookout was issued. A short time later, the suspect, Samuel Muslaire, 23, of Miami was spotted by Deputy Corey Rittenour riding the stolen bike near the intersection of North Ocean Shore Boulevard and Camino Del Mar Parkway.

Muslaire knew he was caught when Deputy Rittenour asked him about the bike, and Muslaire responded with, “Why do you say that?” Mulsaire was immediately placed in handcuffs.

During a search of his belongings, deputies discovered multiple stolen and fraudulent items. Muslaire had 51 forged bank checks from four different victims totaling $70,466. He also had several forms of identification and debit/credit cards belonging to a victim in Orange County, Florida. The Orange County Sheriff's Office was notified, and an investigation is underway in Orange County.

Muslaire was arrested for Grand Theft ($750- $5,000), two counts of Unauthorized Use/Possession of Driver’s License, Possession of ID of Another Without Authorization (4 or fewer), and Organized Scheme to Defraud (Greater than $50,000). He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and is being held on an $18,000 bond.
